VORTEX
Clayton Blake Art — Currumbin, Australia

About
VORTEX is a trio of illuminated cubes set against the open desert, scaled at 2m, 3m, and 4m. Each form is wrapped in a continuous black-and-white spiral printed onto tensioned Lycra, creating the illusion of a deep, collapsing void. By day, the stark geometry fractures perception against the horizon; by night, the cubes glow from within, transforming into luminous beacons. The work explores perception as unstable and subjective, compressing a sense of infinite depth into finite form and revealing how reality shifts through movement, light, and perspective.
