A fully solar-powered camp exploring what a fuel-free future on Playa can look like. This year we present The Last Ocean, an interactive installation built from reclaimed ocean and ocean-bound plastic. Step onto the platforms and walk, run, and dance across a solar-powered sea of light as the surface responds to movement with shifting waves of color. The entire artwork and camp operate 100% on solar energy with no fuel or petrol used in any capacity. Solar panels are integrated directly into the space, making the renewable energy system that powers the experience visible to everyone who visits. Castra Ursi also shares open diagrams and build information showing how our solar and battery systems work, helping other camps explore how to build their own fuel-free infrastructure.
