Atlas Endures depicts the Titan condemned by Zeus to bear the heavens for eternity as punishment for siding with the Titans against the Olympian gods. Crouched atop a pedestal, arms spread wide to support the celestial sphere above him. Atlas endures the blazing sun from rise to set; then, under a darkened sky, he holds the moon, the Pleiades, and Orion, marking the eternal passage between day and night through his outstretched hands. As Axis Mundi, he stands at the sacred center where earth meets sky, a living pillar joining the mortal and celestial realms. The piece captures cosmic balance held through unwavering willpower, transforming defeat into a posture of strength — Atlas, condemned yet unyielding beneath the weight of the world.
