Light Grinder is a suspended kinetic mirrored helix flooded by an abundance of light. A continuation of Adam Frey's Grinder series, the piece builds on the spinning mirror forms of Space Grinder and Grinder Garden, shifting the focus from clustered reflection to illuminated motion. As the central helix spins, its mirrored surfaces fracture, scatter, and recombine the world around it into a twisting kaleidoscope of color, image, and spectacle. Playful, dazzling, and delightfully absurd, Light Grinder invites participants to circle, touch, look longer, and share in the strange pleasure of seeing the familiar world broken open and made new.
