About
"Mushrooms of Sirsasana" is an installation of hand-sculpted, cast fungi inspired by wild shelf species such as turkey tail, king oyster, chicken-of-the-woods, and red belt bracket. Originally created as part of a 2022 upside-down tree sculpture in BRC, these vibrant pieces are cast in durable polyurethane resin using silicone molds. These mushrooms carry forward the themes of shifting perspective and cyclical rebirth. Placed within the Pavilion's Axis Mundi, they represent the living, connective tissue of the cosmic tree. While the Axis Mundi connects heaven and earth, fungi connect decay to new life.
